Advanced Reading Skills

A six unit course that targets the reading skills necessary for college course readiness, focusing on secondary grade level reading skills. This course is the second part of two reading skills courses with Basic Reading Skills covering elementary grade level skills, that cover the scope of reading from elementary grades through high school. These courses were modeled after common developmental education or pre-college courses that are offered when students do not meet college entrance assessment targets. Topics include: building vocabulary, engaging with text, and text types.
