Haven Denney

EdOptions Academy is proud of our student and Junior World Champion, Haven Denney! Haven and her skating partner, Brandon Frazier, won the gold medal in pair skating at the 2013 World junior figure skating championships.

Skating to “La Strada”, American team reeled off a triple twist, throw triple Salchow, triple Salchow, double Axel – double Axel sequence, a throw triple loop and difficult lifts. “I thought our performance was pretty good today. It felt like we fought through all our elements and I think that made us appreciate it even more. I had a lot of fun and was relieved when it was over. I don’t think it has sunk in yet, but I’m really happy and proud of Brandon and myself tonight.” Denney said media.

Denney started skating at age 8 because her sister, Caydee, skated and her roller pairs partner switched to ice skating, too. Caydee is a senior pairs skater who won the 2010 U.S. title and competed at the 2010 Olympic Winter games with Jeremy Barrett. Denney's parents, Bryan and Dee Dee, were national roller skating champions, and Bryan placed third at the World Championships in senior men. Haven’s family has three dogs named Bentley, Maggie and Lexie.

Be sure to keep an eye on this talented young lady! We hope to see her excel in future competitions and are proud to be part of journey to the GOLD!
